Visited in November- the herbaceous border was clearly going in to hibernation, but the Castle itself was great fun to look around- brilliant access to loads of the ruined rooms and you can get to the top of the main tower! Be careful if you're not 100% steady on your feet- some of the stair cases are narrow and uneven. Good overall but information boards a bit sparse , the guide book might be worth it. Loved the dove cot. Really nice helpful Historic Scotland staff member in the shop.
