Theoretically, you need a Mexico visa to enter Tijuana if you have Chinese passport. However, sometime the Mexico border patrol won’t check it especially if you go with a tour group. But you need American Visa to come back. American border patrol will definitely check it. Tijuana is not a safe place. American teens go to there for bar-hopping, since the legal age of drinking in Mexico is 18, but 21 in America. If you are alone, you’d better go with a tour group. They also have drug trafficking problem there.
熊猫 is not in the San Diego Wild Animal Park (野生动物园), but in the San Diego Zoo (动物园). They are sister-parks but in different locations. San Diego Zoo is in San Diego (near Balboa Park). San Diego Wild Animal Park is in Escondido, a small town little bit north of San Diego. Both parks are great, but the Wild Animal Park is little difficult to reach if you don’t drive. However, it is definitely worth the trip.
If you go there in February or March, whale watching is a fun thing to do. Every year grey whale will migrate from Alaska to Baja California (Mexico) in December and January to have babies, then go back to Alaska with their new born babies in February and March. We just did it last week. It was great, but you cannot get very close to those whales. You also will see common dolphins and other sea creatures.
La Jolla beach is very beautiful, but you have to climb down a cliff to reach it, then climb up. It is a famous beach for surfing sport. You might see other surprises there. The Children’s Pool beach is not far from La Jolla. You can have a very very close look of wild California sea lions and seals. Both beaches are public beaches (free).
Have a nice trip. Hope this reply is not too late for you.
