Dear, I got one parking expiation notice ticket when I was traveling in Adelaide on Nov, 26th. 2018. The expiation No. is xxxxxxxx. I decided to make an appeal against this expiation because actually I already purchased the parking ticket from the ticket machine for 3 hours, however I don't know the ticket should be put on somewhere remarkable in my car. This is the first time I travel to Australia so I don't have the knowledge about that. Thank you for your email regarding the parking expiation number XXXXXXXX.
The expiation notice was issued as the vehicle did not clearly display a valid ticket while parked in a ticket parking zone.
Consideration has been given to the circumstances and I am pleased to advise, as you have provided a valid ticket from the corresponding ticket machine, the City of Adelaide has withdrawn this expiation notice as a once off only gesture of goodwill.
While we do acknowledge this was an honest mistake, it is a requirement when using ticket parking areas that a ticket must be displayed on the passenger side of the vehicle, on the dash board and in such a manner that all of the details on the ticket are clearly visible to a Parking and Information Officer standing alongside the vehicle.
To avoid an expiation notice of a similar nature in future, it is best practice to ensure the ticket is correctly displayed after the vehicle’s doors and windows are closed. Please be aware that the same favourable consideration cannot be given to Expiation Notices incurred under similar circumstances in the future.
