Boasting spectacular rural views abound with farm and bush with resident kangaroos, it is a short drive from the Great Southern Ocean, just where the Twelve Apostles can be found.Meeting the indoor farmyard animals is fun and removing the children from there is usually the biggest challenge. Learn about rearing a calf and why it is done; even give a calf a bottle of milk. Watch the cows being milked by Macka. Piglets, ducks, goats, sheep, dog, cats and alpacas are part of this busy old fashioned environment.On the farm enjoy walks, there are fish in the dam and the barn is a huge playground for all ages as well as housing the animal nursery. Macka's Farm is situated at the mid point of the Great Ocean Road and only six kilometres from the Twelve Apostles, Gibsons Steps and Loch Ard Gorge. This is also an area renowned for rock, surf and river fishing. Ten minutes away is Port Campbell where fishing is popular from the pier, or there are charter boats that leave from the pier.The Port Campbell National Park, Otway Ranges and Bay of Islands Coastal Park offer some wonderful walks along cliffs, through rainforest and bush and some challenging beach walks. Glow worms, waterfalls, 4WD tracks, native flora and fauna, wild flowers and the remains of ship wrecks from years gone by. No matter how active you would like to be there is something to see.Farm ActivitiesThere are always new ‘Babies’ in the huge indoor farmyard where everyone can have hands on experiences - all in their own time and comfort zone.The only predictable part of Macka’s Farm is that kids of all ages will have the time of their lives.The big shed has lots to see and do and will be the focus for many of you. Learning how to feed the slurpy calves is fun and we do that twice daily. Finding eggs in the hay is exciting and involves observation and understanding the hens.There are always cute babies to hold - rabbits, piglets and often Macka will have a lamb or other suprises. Many of our guests will be lucky enough to witness new animals come into the world - an unforgettable experience.Once the milking is done and all the animals fed, the big shed is still full of things to see and do.
