"Minitrekking over the Perito Moreno Glacier AR$ 500.00 (with transfer included)

Starts at 8.00 am when the bus picks you up and takes you the Glaciares National Park (80km far from El Calafate). At the Bajo las Sombras Harbor (about 6 km before the Glaciers balconies) you will embark for a 30 minutes navigation to cross the Brazo Rico Lake enjoying the views of the front wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier and maybe, huge icebergs, too. At the opposite shore, specialized climbing guides will welcome you and lead you to a small shelter where they will put you a pair of crampons on and explaining you how to use them. The ice trekking is safe and moderate. The circuit lasts one hour and half where you will see lots of ice! After the walk, you will go back to the shelter where you can have lunch if you take your lunch box. Then you will go back to the boat to the Bajo Las Sombras Bay where the bus will take you the second part of the excursion, the Perito Moreno Balconies. There you will walk through different balconies where you will see the Perito Moreno Glacier at different panoramic levels. Is highly recommended to get to the lowest floor to see the Glacier next to one′s face. The arrival time to El Calafate is 06.00-7.00 pm.


Recommendations:


a) Footwear: Sport shoes or trekking boots with warm woolen or cotton socks. Rubber, après ski boots and high heel shoes are not advisable.


b) Outfit: Comfortable sports wear , long trousers , warm sweater or pile, water or windproof jacket, sun glasses, sun block and gloves.


c) Lunch: Passengers must bring their lunch boxes


d) Age : Between 10 to 65 years old aprox.


The price of this excursion does not include National Park Entrance fee of 40 for Argentineans and 100 pesos for non Argentineans."

In the morning, you will see the Upsala Glacier and at midday you will disembark the boat to have lunch. Here we have to options: the first one is to have lunch at the restaurant ¨Refugio Onelli¨ (but you will loose time to see the Onelli bay). The other option is to take a lunch box and have lunch in front of the icebergs enjoying the walk and the nature. (highly recommended) In the afternoon, you will see the Spegazzini Glacier and return to the Punta Bandera Harbor to take the bus to El Calafate. The Return time is 6.00 pm aprox. The price of this excursion does not include National Park Entrance fee of 40 for Argentineans and 100 pesos for non Argentineans. "
