Getting to Koh Samet from Pattaya.First you need to get to Ban Phe before you can board the ferry or speedboat to Koh Samet.
Pattaya to Ban Phe by Mini Bus or Mini Van
The mini bus ride from Pattaya to Ban Phe takes an hour or less, on a per person basis they are relatively cheap, costing around 250-350 baht per person, the only cheaper way is by bus or an adventurous baht bus (songthaew) ride. A large party of 6 people or more might be better off hiring a private minibus which should cost between 1,300 and 1,600 baht. Alternatively, on Sukhumvit you could wave down one the express minivans (white color with 3 colored stripes on the side) which stop at Rayong, cost around 60 baht.
Samet Island Tour CompanyMini buses from Pattaya to Ban Phe every day at 08:00 12:00 15:30.Returning from Ban Phe to Pattaya every day at 10:00 13:30 17:15.Tickets to and from Ban Phe (at present time) cost around 230 baht per person one way.
