Passengers arriving within 6 days after leaving or transiting

countries with risk of yellow fever transmission For details, click here
and not holding a yellow fever vaccination certificate are

subject to quarantine for 6 days. Quarantine facilities are

only available at Dehli (DEL), Chennai (MAA)and Mumbai (BOM).
At other aiports passengers will be deported. NOTE: Carrier
will be charged when passenger refuses to pay.

Passport required.
- Passport and/or passport replacing documents must be valid
on arrival.

Visa Issuance:
Visa required, except for Visitors traveling as tourist can
obtain a visa on arrival for a max. stay of 90 days. Fee:
between USD 25.- and USD 100.- (depending on duration of stay)

or equivalent in convertible currency.

- Visitors traveling on business can obtain a visa on arrival
for a max. stay of 5 years, provided holding a license
issued by the Ministry of Industry. Fee: between USD 100.-
and USD 300.- (depending on duration of stay) or equivalent

in convertible currency.

Vaccination against yellow fever required if arriving within 6

days after leaving or transiting countries with risk of yellow

Exempt from Yellow Fever vaccination:

- Those not leaving the airport in the countries with risk of
yellow fever transmission.
Recommended:
- Malaria prophylaxis. Malaria risk - mainly in the benign (P.
vivax) form - exists throughout the year in rural areas of
the 20 Terai districts (incl. forested hills and forest
areas) bordering with India, with occasional outbreaks of P.
falciparum from July to October inclusive. Seasonal
transmission of P. vivax takes place in 45 districts of the
inner Terai and midhills. P. falciparum resistant to
chloroquine and sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine reported.
